Jammed up again...

Once again last week was crazy! (so sorry I missed Wordless Wednesday...just realized it!!) I started one of my master classes which is proving to be extremely time consuming. I haven't taken a class since I've had kids...it is definitely a struggle to get my work done. Pulled many late-nighters last week. Only 2 more weeks to go and then I can return to my relaxing summer!
Also, I devised this crazy idea to plan a "kids party" about a month ago. Since I definitely wanted it to be when my in-laws were home, I had to plan it the first week of my class. So...let's just say I overloaded my plate a little last week. Hubby says I do this to myself all the time...it's true.
YET--the party turned out to be a blast! Even though I was exhausted and extremely stressed it was all worth it in the end!! We had about 25 adults and 20 kiddos ranging in age from 7wks to 10 yrs. old in our tiny backyard! Lots of toddlers...LnL had the time of their lives. It was so nice to look out into the yard and see all the smiles, hear the laughter, and just watch everyone having a genuinely good time. One of my dearest friends made the trip from the K-zoo area with her 3 kiddos including her new little 7 wk. old!! That was a nice surprise.

Sunday we celebrated our nephew and godson, Cooper's, baptism. It was a bittersweet day for me in many ways. To see Cooper baptized was absolutely wonderful. He was so sweet and everytime I witness a baptism, including my own children, I have to fight tears back. I don't know why...it is just awesome to see. Yet, I hadn't been in that church in quite some time and memories were flowing back of my mother-in-law and her passing. Also, Sunday we had to say our good-byes to the in-laws. I was in tears. We just had such a great time the past two weeks and it made me sad to see them go. Hubby said to me...why are you so upset...you've been through this a million times. I said...yeah but the kids have never been as attached to their cousins, aunt, and uncle as they are right now. We try our best to keep in touch and stay connected and I think we actually do an excellent job of it. Yet, it's still not the same as face to face interaction. K' fam...see you at Christmas...can't wait!

Sweet Baby Cooper

As promised...here is a pic of our 6-week old nephew, Cooper. We were so thrilled to meet him for the first time on our vacation. I kept telling K' (my sister-in-law) what a great baby he is...especially with all the craziness that was going on in the house when we were there. She is a very avid babywearer. He does great in the sling. It takes her maybe 2 minutes to get it on, baby inside and comfy. I tried using them when LJ and LK were little, yet I always needed her help getting the darn thing on! She has a friend that makes them and she just sent K' a new one which I love! Check out the link if you're interested!

On a side note...I am not sure how many of you were able to catch the The Last Lecture (A love story for your life) last night on ABC. This is truly an inspiring story. I ended up bawling throughout the whole show, as did my sister-in-law. As many of you know, my mother-in-law passed away 3 years ago to Pancreatic Cancer. This disease is something that really hits me hard. If you missed it, you can catch the lecture online. What a great attitude Randy Pausch has...so inspiring.
